Composites are today used in products where high mechanical strength, low weight and good durability are needed, and composites are therefore used in automotive applications. Natural fibers, such as flax and hemp, have during the last 20 years been studied and developed to replace glass fibers in composites.
This seminar will give an overview of the current development of cellulose based natural fibers for composites, with emphasis on automotive applications. Novel methods to manufacture 3D textile reinforcements will also be presented.
