The focus has been, among other things, spinning of electro active fibers and electronic leading coating,

Since 2006, joint parties, both senior researchers and Doctoral Students, have worked together within the area electro active textiles. The focus has been spinning of electro active fibers and electronic leading coating, as well as characterizing of the materials. For example, research are being done around melting spinning of, and coating with, naturally leading polymers, and of filled polymers where the filling is the leading unit. Methodic and method development for characterizing of the textile material's electronic leading ability is also being operated.

 

Research with focus on knitted/woven/aftertreated (print, foulardering, coating) electro active structures, is done within the area of electro active textiles. The different produced textile structures include signal transferring, sensor and actuator functions. More specifically, research has treated the link between electronic and conductive textile material, electroluminiscens, functions like integrated microphone elements, piezo electric qualities for sound sensors and deformation, and collecting of signals for medical purpose.
